Smith to support finance operations

Samantha Smith, Office Manager

Samantha Smith joined the iSchool on October 2 as an office manager with the business and finance team. In this role, she will assist with purchases, financial transactions, and financial administrative maintenance.

Prior to joining the School, Smith served as an office manager in the UIUC Department of Computer Science. She holds associate degrees in business management and accounting from Parkland College.

"After reading the job description for office manager at the iSchool, I knew it was something I would enjoy," she said. "The position is a mix of tasks that I already know how to do along with some new ones to learn."

Outside of work, Smith enjoys spending time with family and attending her two little boys' sporting events.

Dombrowski to deliver the 2024 Windsor Lecture

Quinn Dombrowski, academic technology specialist in the Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages, and in the Library, at Stanford University, will deliver the 2024 Windsor Lecture on Wednesday, May 1, at 5:00 p.m. in Room 126, 501 E. Daniel Street, and online via Zoom.

Capshaw to deliver 2024 Gryphon Lecture

Katharine Capshaw, professor of English and associate dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Connecticut, will deliver the 2024 Gryphon Lecture on March 21. Sponsored annually by the Center for Children's Books (CCB), the lecture features a leading scholar in the field of youth and literature, media, and culture.
