Hagler to oversee recruitment and admissions

Katrina Hagler joined the iSchool on August 8 as director of recruitment and admissions. In this position, she will oversee recruiting and admissions for the School's degree programs.

Hagler previously served as associate director of recruiting and data management for the Gies College of Business. Her experience includes more than twelve years in recruitment and admissions at the U of I, and her knowledge and skills include best practices in recruitment and admissions, the use of data for strategic planning, and the ability to innovate and implement new recruitment and yield approaches. She holds a bachelor's degree in music (piano) from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Illinois.

"The iSchool has a great reputation, and I'm excited to be on board at such an unprecedented time of growth," said Hagler. "I'm also excited to get involved in undergraduate recruitment, since my prior roles have focused on MS and PhD programs."

In her free time, Hagler enjoys spending time with her husband and son, sewing, and crafting.

Dombrowski to deliver the 2024 Windsor Lecture

Quinn Dombrowski, academic technology specialist in the Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages, and in the Library, at Stanford University, will deliver the 2024 Windsor Lecture on Wednesday, May 1, at 5:00 p.m. in Room 126, 501 E. Daniel Street, and online via Zoom.

Capshaw to deliver 2024 Gryphon Lecture

Katharine Capshaw, professor of English and associate dean for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Connecticut, will deliver the 2024 Gryphon Lecture on March 21. Sponsored annually by the Center for Children's Books (CCB), the lecture features a leading scholar in the field of youth and literature, media, and culture.
